RIMECO’s processing facilities

The scrap yards and terminals of RIMECO are located in St. Petersburg, Russia and in Denmark. All sites are well positioned for incoming deliveries from the CIS countries (by rail and road) and for outgoing transport by ship, container or road.

Our sites are modern, fully equipped, scrap handling terminals, designed in accordance with stringent environmental standards. Our facilities therefore have, for example, closed sewage systems and fixed installations for gate and manual radioactivity controls.

Our ambition is to refine scrap using efficient methods and to produce a raw material of the highest quality which can be fully utilized by the end consumer. Great care is taken to ensure all contamination and foreign inclusions in the scrap are removed, particularly radioactive materials. All material leaving the terminal has been checked twice for radioactivity (once on entering and once on leaving the facility). It is in addition checked during sorting by our personal measuring radioactivity manually and by radioactivity detectors on excavators.
